Weezer – Weezer (The Blue Album)

My love is a heartbreaker. My buddies Weezer’s first album is the first of (at the time of this writing) three self-titled ones, and is without a doubt the best eponymous effort of theirs.  You can tell, compared to later works, that Weezer is more musically-centered into defining a sound, which they do and later take for granted.  Here, they are trying.

All of their songs are recognizable, a thing I keep mentioning when I review CDs, but I find very important – you may forget you know some songs on this album; contrast that with forgetting some songs that are on an album altogether.  Does that distinction make sense?
